Finding a way to manage the wastewater generated during the tumbling process is a key aspect of any new finishing application. Mass Finishing customers around the world ask for help managing their waste stream and MFI now has a great product to help manage the issue.
As a centrifugal barrel machine manufacturer, it only made sense to turn to centrifugal technology for wastewater cleaning as well. The new MFI S55 centrifuge system spins the solids out of the water and collects the material in a removable liner.
“After getting everything hooked up, I was surprised at how much sludge, clay, and swarf it removed from the system after just 5 minutes,” said MFI Director of Technology Tommy Mathisen.
The system features a small footprint of just 39.25 inches long by 18.5 inches wide. With a flow rate capacity of 12 gallons per minute, it can easily keep up with the wastewater generated by a Mass Finishing tumbler. Most customers will only have to run the centrifuge a couple times a day to clean their water prior to sending it down the drain or to a fully integrated recycling system.
“There was about an 1/8 of an inch of sludge covering the catch basket, so it did a great job taking that out of the system,” Mathisen explained.
At under $17,000, this system is not only easy to install, it’s also very affordable for the amount of water it can process when compared to alternatives. For more information on pricing and installation reach out to us at firstname.lastname@example.org or call us at 1-888-260-6277.
