The Benefits of Centrifugal Disc Finishing

Flexibility

The RF-Series Centrifugal Disc Finishing Machines are capable of handling a wide variety of finishing applications, from coarse grinding to delicate polishing. Whether you need deburring, descaling, polishing, cleaning, or flash removal, our machines deliver exceptional results.

Efficiency

Our RF-Series machines can finish parts 10 to 30 times faster than vibratory machines. While they may be slightly slower than centrifugal barrel tumblers, they offer similar energy consumption while delivering superior performance.

Variable Frequency Control

With the ability to control the speed of the tumble, operators can achieve finer finishing at low speeds for polishing, or increase the speed for aggressive deburring and edge radiusing.

Adjustable Gap

The RF-Series machines feature gap adjustment bolts, ensuring that media and parts do not enter the gap between the moving base and the stationary tub wall. This enhances safety and prevents damage to the machine and parts.

Models for all Budgets

Our standard disc finishers are a cost-effective option compared to centrifugal barrel tumbling machines. This affordability makes them an attractive choice for startups and applications with budget constraints.

What is Centrifugal Disc Finishing?

MFI’s RF-Series Centrifugal Disc Finishing Machines utilize a stationary barrel wall and a spinning disc at the base. As the disc rotates, it propels the media and parts upward, where it rubs against the stationary polyurethane wall of the barrel. The continuous rolling and flowing motion of the parts and media ensures highly efficient deburring and finishing.

RF-Series Centrifugal Disc Finishing Machine Basic Operation

To operate the RF-Series Centrifugal Disc Finishing Machine, simply load the barrel with media, parts, and compound. Turn on the machine and set it to your desired speed. Then, drop in your parts and allow the machine to complete the cycle. Once the cycle is finished, press the “stop cycle” button. Position the recovery bin under the machine, and slowly tip the barrel to separate the parts from the media.
