We’re proud to announce that Mass Finishing, Inc. is now officially ISO 9001:2015 certified. This is a major milestone that reflects our commitment to quality, consistency, and continuous improvement. But what does that really mean? And more importantly, what does it mean for you as our customer? Let’s dive in!

What Is ISO 9001:2015 Certification?

First of all, let’s find out what an ISO certification is. The ISO 9001:2015 certification is an internationally recognized standard for quality management systems (QMS). Organizations that achieve this certification have demonstrated their ability to consistently provide products and services that meet customer and regulatory requirements. You can read more about the certification here.

In simpler terms, it means that every part of our operation, from design and manufacturing to customer service, is guided by clearly defined, continuously improving processes. This certification isn’t a one-time achievement either. It requires ongoing audits, documentation, and accountability.

Why MFI Pursued ISO Certification

We pursued ISO 9001:2015 certification to meet your expectations. Many of our customers, like medical device manufacturing, aerospace, and precision engineering, require ISO-certified partners. Our team also sought to get ISO certified to improve our own internal processes. As we continue to grow, the certification process pushed us to evaluate and refine how we operate at every level. Additionally, this certification allows us to serve more advanced industries where quality standards are non-negotiable. Who knows what the future holds? Whatever is on the horizon, we want to be prepared for it.

The Work Behind the Certification

Earning ISO 9001:2015 certification was not easy! But it wasn’t meant to be. Over the past months, our team has worked diligently to meet or exceed the expectations of the 3rd party ISO audit. This included documenting and standardizing processes across departments. Our managers worked with each department to create an easy-to-follow process for each step they take. We also implemented stricter quality control measures. If our media or equipment doesn’t reach our own high standards, it doesn’t leave our building. We have trained all employees on updated procedures and accountability standards. So, no matter which department you work inside, everyone follows the same structure we implemented. And we conduct internal audits and management reviews. These aren’t just annual reviews either! Our audits and reviews are performed each day. Furthermore, extensive internal audits are performed weekly and monthly.

This was a company-wide effort that required focus, discipline, and a shared commitment to excellence. Every team member played a role in getting us here.
